SCREW IT ALL!

Don’t fall for the ‘screw it’ mindset. The 'f*** it bucket'. The all in or all out approach. That all or nothing way of thinking. Whatever you want to call it.

I get it. It’s summer.

BBQ’s, holidays, festivals, day trips and lots of social occasions! Months full of good food, alcohol, picnics? meals out, ice cream and being out of your normal routine.

I’m a big believer of balance- life is for enjoying and the memories you make over these months will be what stick with you when you’re older.

But that doesn’t mean you have to throw in the towel, go CRAZY and fall into a feeding frenzy at every opportunity. You can still enjoy yourself whilst working towards your goals if you are mindful, plan ahead a bit.

If I’m travelling-

  • I bring snacks with me in my carry on or backpack.

  • Things that travel well ;include protein bars, protein powder, nuts/dried fruit and even Tupperwares of oats have made appearances.

  • Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated.

  • Try the local foods…including fruit & veg! There’s so many types that we don’t get at home!

  • Stay active in other ways- walking, hiking, swimming, surfing, dancing, exploring, diving 🏄‍♀️

  • I look out for gyms, hotel leisure faculties & also bring resistance bands if I’m going away for more than a few days 🏋🏼‍♀️

  • If you’re trying to stay ‘somewhat on track’, research ahead to find supermarkets, gyms & restaurants where you can get things you’d like to try that will fit with your goals.

Do remember though, you don’t need ‘permission’ to enjoy yourself & relax. You don’t have to be on 100% of the time and a few days out of routine, eating more than normal, sleeping less than you’re used to and moving less won’t kill your progress! Just as you don't see results and progress instantly over night, you certainly won't lose all the progress you've made in one week!
